How to write a need that gets great offers
Published August 28, 2026 · WDOYN
On WDOYN you don't fill in a job form — you describe what you need in plain words. The clearer that description, the better and faster the offers. Here's a simple structure.
1. Say what "done" looks like
Lead with the outcome, not the task. "A 5-page website for my dental clinic with an appointment form" is better than "need a web developer".
2. Add the constraints that matter
Budget range, deadline, must-have integrations, existing brand assets, the platform you're on. Two or three lines is enough.
3. Show what you have
Links to your current site, references you like, a rough sketch. Freelancers price and plan much faster with context.
4. Pick the right category and subcategory
We guess it from your text, but confirming it (e.g. Development → Shopify Developers) puts your need in front of the people who do exactly that.
5. Keep it short
A strong need is 4–8 sentences. You'll fill in the rest when you message the freelancers whose offers you like.
